Yungblud
Information
The punk and alternative rock singer known as Yungblud is embarking on a new tour, the Live On Mars Tour, to present his second album entitled Weird!. A tour that will bring him to Spain, performing at La Riviera on 2 May 2022.
Born in Doncaster, United Kingdom, in 1997, Dominic Richard Harrison, the alter ego of Yungblud, is a songwriter, guitarist and vocalist who developed a love of music from his father, who owned a guitar shop. His grandfather, Rick Harrison, was also a member of the legendary psychedelic rock group of the 60s and 70s, T. Rex. His artistic name comes from when he began to break into the music scene and, one day, a producer called him young blood. Dominic contracted the two words and created his stage name: Yungblud.
His debut album came out in 2018, 21st Century Liability, a record that stood out for its socially conscientious critiques and for blending different styles such as postpunk, indie rock, rap, and ska, as well as its aesthetic characteristic of the punk genre from the 70s and 80s.
He is now back with an album featuring 13 new tracks, which was set to be released in November 2020 but was pushed back because of the Covid-19 pandemic. His most successful singles include Strawberry Lipstick, God Save Me, but Don't Drown Me Out and Cotton Candy.
Yungblud has just completed a sold-out tour of the UK, selling more than 70,000 tickets.
