South Summit, the biggest annual event in the south of Europe that brings together entrepreneurs, investors, start-ups and corporations, is holding a new edition in Madrid from 8 to 10 June at La Nave. On this occasion, Al Gore, the former Vice President of the United States and presidential candidate in 2000, will be participating, along with Pablo Isla, former President of INDITEX and current Chairman of IE University’s International Advisory Board.
This edition celebrates its 10th anniversary as the main meeting point for the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, with entrepreneurs, investors and corporations seeking to generate real business opportunities in the global entrepreneurial ecosystem. The programme will once more bring together leading international investors and successful global start-ups under the theme, [de]coding complexity.
Like in previous editions, South Summit will be attended by the one hundred best start-ups from the global and national ecosystem, selected from more than 3000 projects from 114 countries presented to the Start-up Competition, which brings together the most innovative start-ups, regardless of their industry, development phase or country. It is an excellent showcase to raise visibility of your projects, attract new clients, funding or make strategic partnerships.
This year, more than 450 speakers of renowned international prestige will participate and share their successful professional careers and expertise in the field of innovation and the business world. Well known profiles in innovation will be participating, such as Sal Khan, founder and CEO of the Khan Academy non-profit educational organisation; Marc Oshima, co-founder and CMO of AeroFarms, leaders in sustainable indoor agriculture; Marci Zaroff, founder and CEO of ECOfashion Corp, leaders in the sustainable fashion sector; Iñigo Charola, CEO of the biotech company, BioTechFoods, devoted to the development of synthetic meat; and Hrish Lotikar, co-founder and CEO of SuperWorld, a virtual world of augmented reality (AR) geographically mapped in the real world.
