Enjoy all the thrills of horse racing as well as a whole host of different activities and cuisines at La Zarzuela Racecourse, an architectural landmark of Madrid's rationalism built in the 1940s. The 2023 season starts on 5 March, with races every Sunday in March, April and May, Saturdays from 3 June to 5 August (afternoon and evening every Saturday in June), Thursday evenings from 22 June to 10 August, two afternoon and evening race events on 8 and 16 September, Sundays from 24 September to 19 November (plus Thursday 12 October) and the grand finale, with the Christmas Family Day, on 28 December.

In addition to exciting races, La Zarzuela offers a great selection of foods and drinks, ranging from international snacks sold in food trucks to traditional tapas and fresh seasonal cuisine served in the VIP area. In summer, you can enjoy an evening of racing, music and food thanks to their Night at the Races, and if you fancy treating yourself to a VIP experience, you sit back and relax in the Torroja grandstand. This exclusive area features chill out zones with ambient music, an open bar service, and catering throughout the race day.

If you’re interested in learning more about the racetrack, Hipotour offers an hour-long guided tour right before the first race. Find out how a typical race day unfolds, discover who the best jockeys and horses are, and learn a few tips and tricks for betting on the winning horse.

The race course also has something for the little ones. Set up in spring and autumn in the northern paddock, PonyTurf Club is a space for children featuring bouncy castles and pony rides that invite children to get to know these magnificent animals.
