The Sala Guirau of Fernán Gómez Centro Cultural de la Villa is organizing a festival with current music from Spain, Portugal and Latin America from April 14th to 26th. A cycle that explores the cultural richness of music with Iberian roots.
The competition starts on April 14th with the Argentine indie pop and neo-folk soloist Juana Molina, who presents her new album Forfún Tour. The next day, Ángela Carrasco and Paco Arrojo pay tribute to Camilo Sesto, with an audition full of the great songs by this icon of Spanish music.
On the 16th of April it's the turn of the Spanish María Rodés, a pop rock singer who has released four albums as a solo artist, the last one being Eclíptica. On the 17th of April, Rodrigo Cuevas presents Trópico de Covadonga, an LP that fuses pop, Asturian folklore and folk together with electronic bases.
On April 18, Julián Maeso Organ Trío presents Another way to tell the same tail. Maeso is a multi-instrumentalist catalogued as one of the best specialists in Hammond organ in our country. For this reason, he has toured with artists such as M-Clan or Quique González.
On April 19, Antonio Zambujo represents Do Aveso, the latest from this Portuguese singer who has emerged as the great renovator of Fado, which mixes with jazz, Cape Verdean morna and bossa nova.
On April 22nd, Salvador Sobral exhibits Alma Nuestra (Solo boleros). This Portuguese vocalist is known for having followed the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 representing Portugal with the song Amar pelos dois.
Joana Serrat takes to the stage on April 23rd with Dripping Springs, her fourth folk album. This Catalan usually performs her songs in English with some foray into Catalan and was distinguished with the award for Best National Album in 2017, given by the professional jury of the Pop-Eye Awards.
SÉS is the alter ego of María Xosé Silvar, a singer-songwriter from A Coruña of rock, blues and traditional Galician music. Here, on April 24th, she performs her most recent work: Liberar as arteias. Meanwhile, on April 25th Delafé plays Hay un lugar, the new production by the Barcelona band composed by Oscar D'Aniello and Dani Acedo. A band halfway between rock, pop, soul and electronics.
Finally, on 26 April, Fetén Fetén proposes a special concert with the flamenco singer-songwriter Javier Ruibal as guest artist. This is the musical project of Jorge Arribas and Diego Galaz, two lovers of fox-trot, waltz, chotis, seguidillas and habaneras, rhythms that they produce with accordions, violins, trumpets, flutes or mandolins.
