KLIMT: The Immersive Experience
Information
The MAD (Madrid Digital Arts) Immersive Experience Centre will open its doors on 4 March 2022 with a large format production based on KLIMT's work. A unique experience that will allow spectators of all ages to immerse themselves in bustling turn-of-the-century Vienna and experience first-hand the evolution of the artist's work and his world.
It includes several large format projections in an immersive projection space covering more than 900 m2. You will feel as if you are inside the paintings and buildings decorated by KLIMT, through a 3D experience with virtual reality glasses, exhibition spaces, and interactive tools.
The painter Gustav Klimt (Vienna, Austria, 1862 - 1918) is one of the most renowned artists of all time. He has created some of the most recognised and valued works in the history of art, such as The Kiss, 1907-1908, possibly the most famous, or Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I, also known as Lady in Gold, in 1907.
With an unmistakable aesthetic, his work is fundamental to understanding the evolution of painting towards modernity. It has also become a reference in fashion and aesthetics, even up to the present day.
This exhibition is the first immersive experience for the new digital cultural development centre housed within Nave 16. Centro de Residencias Artísticas (Matadero). Unique in Spain and Europe, in this art centre, the latest technology serves the most innovative cultural and artistic experiences, experimenting with immersion through audiovisual projections, augmented reality, virtual reality, and holography to create a new relationship between art and society.
