Il Divo
Information
Considered the best classical crossover group, Il Divo is embarking on a new concert tour dedicated to the Spanish member of the group Carlos Marín, who passed away on 19 December 2021. The tour will make a stop on 26 June at the Zarzuela Racecourse where the group will perform their greatest hits with opera singer Steven Labrie as special guest.
The group Il Divo was formed in 2003 in England by musicians Urs Büler, Carlos Marín, David Miller and Sébastien Izambrad, and since their birth they have revolutionised the music scene. The artists integrate their voices into a single voice that stands out for its peculiar mixture of opera and pop in songs of different genres, and they have managed to become the most important reference in the world of classical music crossover groups.
They have a long professional career with nine studio albums, the most recent For once in my life: A celebration of Motown in 2021, more than 160 Gold and Platinum records in 35 countries. Since their beginnings, the artists have brought about a revolution in classical music by creating a new musical style, operatic pop.
The international group has become the world leader in its genre, and has achieved unprecedented success around the world performing in front of personalities such as former US Presidents George Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, and the Queen of England.
Now the group will tour several countries on their Greatest Hits Tour, including Spain, where they will be accompanied by Steven Labrie, considered one of the five best baritones in the world. The concert planned for Madrid promises to be a very special event, as member Carlos Marín has spent his last years in the city.
