The Asia Principle. China, Japan and India and Contemporary Art in Spain

Finished
    Information

There is research into the impact and influence of oriental art in Spain, but to date, it has covered the period between the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.  This exhibition aims to explore the influx of these three cultures in Spanish art.

Although the scientific community has accepted a clear influence of the artistic trends of the East in the contemporary works of Spain, there is the need for an exhibition project that displays it. Therefore, the Juan March Foundation embarked on research in 2013, the results of which can be seen in The Asia Principle. China, Japan and India and Contemporary Art in Spain.

The exhibition will include works by numerous artists and approaches, such as painting, sculpture, graphic works, drawing, installation, photography, new artistic behaviours and conceptual art.
