Callas in Concert

    Information

Cutting-edge 3D technology brings the beloved opera legend Maria Callas back to the stage via a hologram. The Gran Teatro CaixaBank Príncipe Pío will stage this live concert in which Callas will perform her greatest songs and opera arias accompanied by the CaixaBank Symphony Orchestra.

This technological feat is the work of the American company BASE Hologram, the coproducer of this production that was recently staged at the Salle Pleyel in Paris. For the Madrid performances, the hologram of the Greek singer is joined on stage by the CaixaBank Symphony Orchestra, composed of 20 musicians.

Nicknamed La Divina, Maria Anna Cecilia Sofia Kalogeropoulos (New York 1923-Paris 1977) is regarded as the greatest opera singers of the 20th century. Blessed with a magnificent voice and an incredible vocal range, Callas’ untimely death at 53 cemented her status as a legend.
