British Christmas Fair
Information
Saint George’s Church will bring British Christmas tradition to the Spanish capital for a day. The festive essence of Britain will be in evidence on December at the British Christmas Fair, which will be set up on their parish premises on the corner of Hermosilla and Núñez de Balboa streets, in the Salamanca neighbourhood.
With around 30 stalls set up inside the church premises, the market will include the typical products that are found at an English Christmas Market, such as Christmas decorations, handicrafts, chocolates and English food that is typical of what is eaten at Christmas time.
You can also try mulled wine, or hot spiced wine, which may sound strange but is a wonderful way to warm up. This can be accompanied by a turkey sandwich and some home-made mince pies and cakes, which are so characteristic of British baking. Generally speaking, these irresistible Christmas baked goods are sold out within a few hours, so it is recommended that you arrive early.
In addition to all these stalls, under the 100-year-old fig tree, there will be an opportunity for all visitors to the market to enjoy participating in an entertaining tombola.
