Blink-182
Information
One of the most influential pop punk bands of the 1990s, Blink-182, has got back together after 10 years to go on a very special tour of concerts, coinciding with the release of its tenth album, Edging. The tour will include a stop off at the WiZink Center on 3 October 2023.
The American pop punk group is considered to be the pioneer of pop punk and one of the bands that contributed to its massive international success at the end of the 1990s and early 2000s. Blink-182 was created in 1992 by Tom DeLonge, who was replaced by Matt Skiba in 2015, but he has come back in 2022, Mark Hoppus and Scott Raynor, who was replaced by Travis Barker in Poway, California, in 1998.
The band is known for its satirical and eschatological humour. The release of its first album in 1995, Cheshire Cat, which included one of its greatest hits, Carousel, coincided with the success of the resurgence of Californian punk rock. With the arrival of Travis Barker on the drums, the band reached a more mature lyrical and musical sound, such as that demonstrated in one of DeLonge and Barker’s parallel projects, Box Car Racer.
With more than 50 million albums sold worldwide, the band is back on stage, confirming the return of Tom DeLonge to the line-up for the presentation of its tenth studio album, Edging.
