Alice Cooper
Information
The iconic American hard rock and metal singer is returning to Madrid after his last visit to the city in 2019, on this occasion touring his latest album Detroit Stories. As part of this tour, Alice Cooper will be coming to Nueva Cubierta de Leganés on 2 July to perform new tracks as well as his greatest hits.
Born in Detroit and considered the creator of shock rock, Vincent Damon Fournier, better known as Alice Cooper, has had a successful rock career spanning more than five decades. The American singer has performed great hits in his career, ever since he released his Pretties For You in 1969 up to the acclaimed Killer, School’s Out, Billion Dollar Babies, I’m Eighteen and Poison.
In 2012, the singer had a part in the film Dark Shadows, directed by Tim Burton, where he preformed two of his most famous songs No More Mr. Nice Guy and Ballad of Dwight Fry. It is a film starring Johnny Depp with whom Alice Cooper has been working on a project Hollywood Vampires since 2015. It is a rock band that honors the music of the rock stars who died from excess in the 1970s comprising Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and the guitarist Joe Perry.
After his previous album, Paranormal (2017), a record on which the tracks were co-written with several members of his former Alice Cooper Band, his most recent album is called Detroit Stories (2021). This new record showcases genres such as blues and traditional but energetic rock and roll on tracks such as Detroit City 2021, Rock & Roll, $1000 High Heel Shoes, or Drunk and in Love.
Alice Cooper redefined the concept of live performances through truly fascinating staging featuring guillotines, boa constrictors, grotesque characters, and straightjackets. Legendary live entertainment that's still very current and which his fans can enjoy on his new Detroit Stories tour.
