Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation
Information
The Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation has its headquarters in a palace built in the year 1798 by the architect Manuel Martín Rodríguez (1740-1823), nephew and disciple of Ventura Rodríguez.
The palace, located near to Literary Quarter and Paseo del Prado, was declared a Monument of Cultural Interest by Royal Decree on 27 February 1998. Originally, it was built as a storehouse for the La Granja Royal Glass Factory, although lenses for spectacles and precision instruments ended up being made in it. After this initial purpose, the palace has had many uses and been remodelled several times to become what it is today.
