Helga de Alvear Art Gallery

    Information

Helga de Alvear is presented as the follow-on from Juana Mordó. Founded in 1995, the gallery has focused its work on displaying the most outstanding international contemporary art, mainly in photographs, video and installations, as well as conceptual languages.

Helga de Alvear herself combines the running of the gallery with her passion as a collector, whereby she is the owner of a large collection of contemporary art that she loans to galleries all over the world. In Cáceres, she also has the Visual Arts Centre which also bears her name.

The gallery owner was awarded the Medal of Extremadura in 2007, the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, granted by the Ministry for Culture in 2008, the Medal of Cáceres in 2011 and the Art and Patronage Award in the category of Collector in 2012, among others.
