Fundación conservatorio flamenco Casa Patas

    Information

This foundation, established in 2000, was located in the heart of Madrid, in the same building that was once home to one of the leading flamenco venues, the Casa Patas tablao (closed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic), which was a gathering place for flamenco aficionados and performers. Since April 2022, the Foundation is housed in the Soto Mesa School of Music after the sale of the building where it was previously located, on Calle Cañizares, 10.

The centre organises many different activities, including flamenco classes for the different disciplines, as well as seminars, conferences, and master classes. As a school, this non-profit organisation offers its students comprehensive training so they can master the art of flamenco and understand the wealth and variety that make flamenco a unique form of Spanish cultural heritage.

The Foundation also promotes workshops for national and foreign students, companies, fans, and tourists interested in learning about this art. It also puts on exhibitions of paintings and photographs, gatherings and talks about bullfighting, wine tasting sessions, and record and book launches. Furthermore, it can be hired out as a rehearsal space by flamenco companies and professionals.
