Madrid - Chamartín - Clara Campoamor Station

    Information

Madrid has a vast network of railways that connects it to the rest of the country. The city’s two main stations are Atocha and Chamartín, both of which are the terminus of AVE high-speed trains, long-distance trains and local services.

Chamartín – Clara Campoamor station, which has its own metro station and bus stops for local buses, has numerous shops and restaurants as well as a popular bowling alley. It is also home to MEEU, a large shopping centre which not only boasts a big selection of eateries and stores but also has a roller rink.

Services offered to visitors also include some premium restrooms opened in January 2022, which can be accessed for a 1 euro fee (refundable in the form of a discount on purchases from the station’s shops). The restrooms (with contactless technology) offer showers, health check-up points (to take blood pressure, measure heart rate and oxygen saturation in blood, get weighed, calculate body mass index (BMI) and get measured); a breastfeeding room with a changing mat, microwave and a mother and baby chair; a family room with a toilet for adults and for children, a changing mat, a free water stationa powder room for men and women with motivational mirrors  and real-time information on time, hygiene tips, etc.  The restrooms also have a room for disabled people. They are located on the ground floor of the station and occupy 180 square metres.

On 23 December 2020, the station was renamed Madrid Chamartín-Clara Campoamor in honour of the great Madrid-born politician, lawyer, writer, defender of the rights of Spanish women and spearhead of women’s suffrage movement in 20th-century Spain.
