EMT Museum
Information
This museum houses the EMT's collection of more than 40 historic vehicles, in addition to other items of historical interest such as the warehouse and adjoining premises of the museum itself, a quintessential example of the industrial architecture of the 1950s and 1960s.
You’ll find anything and everything relating to the history of the EMT, from machinery, engines, mechanical parts, models and furnishings to walls, bus shelters and seats from buses and trams. It also features a large collection of uniforms, badges and nameplates as well as other accessories belonging to EMT staff (mainly drivers, inspectors and conductors), in addition to tickets and other travel documents, maps and an extensive collection of documents.
The EMT Museum is located in the Madrid Municipal Transport Company’s former General Repair Shop at the Fuencarral Depot. As it is inside an EMT work centre, visits can only be arranged with a prior reservation.
