Ehrhardt Flórez Gallery

    Information

The gallery Heinrich Ehrhardt opened in 1980 and the exhibitions held in its early years brought to Madrid the work of post-war German artists such as Imi Knoebel, Georg Baselitz, Joseph Beuys and Jörg Immendorf.

Five years later the gallery moved to Frankfurt, where it exhibited the work of established artists like Dan Flavin and Ulrich Rückriem, plus that of other emerging talents.

In 1998 it reopened in Madrid, since when it has played an important role in bringing contemporary German art to the Spanish market. After Pablo Flórez joined as director of the gallery in 2009, the new Spanish and Portuguese art scene came to occupy a central space in the programme.

In 2022, the gallery was renamed Ehrhardt Flórez, retaining its previous programme and history, whilst also showcasing the combination of different generations and schools that have been fundamental to the gallery. Artists such as Julia Spínola, Fernando García, Mauro Cerqueira, Guillermo Pfaff, Kiko Pérez, Rosa Tharrats, Gonçalo Sena, June Crespo, Peppi Bottrop, Laia Estruch and Jan Zöller, together with the artists already present in its programme, now represent the present and future of the gallery.
