Information
This great edifice, built in the Neo-Herrerian style, was designed by architect Luis Gutiérrez Soto. It stands in the district of Moncloa, on the site previously occupied by the Model de Madrid prison, and it bears a striking resemblance to the Monastery of El Escorial.
This impressive six-storey construction, with exposed brickwork and slate roof, has four towers each topped with a spire, and honour portico made up of four granite half columns. Inside it has three large courtyards: the central or 'honour' courtyard, onto which the windows of the building's noble rooms face, and a further two that act as squares.
