Santa Chocolate Shop
Information
Since it opened in 1920, its handmade sweets much in demand with the early 20th century middle classes. Santa specialises in traditional flavours, notably their almond and hazelnut ‘rocks’, ‘rizados’, ‘troncos’, ‘leña vieja’ and bitter chocolate bars with cinnamon or vanilla.
In addition to their chocolates, which are bigger than normal, the way they wrap their products is famous, with fabric-lined baskets and gift boxes. A visit to this shop on Valentine’s Day is essential to buy red heart-shaped boxes filled with their famous chocolates to delight sweet-toothed romantics.
