Manuel Riesgo Drugstore

    Information

This is a very unique shop not only in Madrid but also in the rest of Spain. It started as an herbalist’s shop founded by the Rafael San Jaume Riera whose products would reach any part in Europe. Certain concessions allowed him to grow plants in La Casa Campo and the Botanic Garden.

In 1926, since Manuel Riesgo bought the premises, he dived into the Chemichal industry focusing in the Arts field, paintings, restoration... Today, they raise more than fifteen thousand products overall. The customer would find almost five hundred wooden drawers with their corresponding ceramic labels indicating what it contains, several display- cabinets and a wooden counter from where you may have a view of Luarca, a beautiful fishing village in Asturias and Riesgo’s home town.
