Lafuente Herbalist
Information
The “Herbolario Lafuente”, founded in 1856, is a shop with a small, wood-covered facade whose doors were decorated by the poster-painter José Bardasano.
These disappeared in its last refurbishment, although the same façade is now conserved in the colour of the original wood, along with the thick mahogany counter with traditional glass jars and the wooden drawers with a strong scent of aromatic and medicinal herbs.
When the de la Fuente brothers worked there, there was a small laboratory, as they made their own herbal preparations. The store was a meeting-place for debaters as significant as Pablo Iglesias, Saborit, Besteiro or Largo Caballero.
