Galería Jorge Alcolea

    Information

With an extensive artistic path spanning from 1989 to the present, the Jorge Alcolea Gallery has always been at the service of the best modern and contemporary paintings.  In its initial phase, it was devoted to exhibiting and supporting the work of young artists, many of whom are renowned on the national and international scene, and over the years, it has combined this with its own portfolio of well established artists, paying special attention to promising young artists from Spanish painting.

The Alcolea surname has been linked to art since 1973, when Alfonso Alcolea and Teresa Albero opened the Nonell Hall in Barcelona. Devoted to Modern Art, they displayed the work of Marià Fortuny, André Masson, Grau Sala, Picasso, Juan Gris, Santiago Rusiñol, Joaquin Mir or Ramón Casas from New York to Buenos Aires, cities where the gallery was based.  In November 2019, the hall was re-opened as the Jorge Alcolea – Nonell Hall with the Pheasant Hunting exhibition, curated by Enrique Juncosa.

Jorge Alcolea now coordinates the galleries in Madrid and Barcelona and combines his commitment to contemporary painting with the preservation of antiques and Modern Art that is more committed to the family tradition.
