De la Serna Pharmacy
Information
The opening date may have been even earlier than the date visible on the facade (1853) since the Royal Academy of Pharmacy Archives include an application from Félix Andrés showing that by 2nd January 1836 he was already a collegiate member with premises at Calle Santa Isabel, 5 .
One of the oldest known chemists it occupied the site of the former opthalmologists until it moved to Calle General Arrando, a prosperous area, certainly under its first owner, a native of Arévalo. It is situated near establishments such as La Fontana de Oro, Lhardy, la Cerveceria Inglesa (the English pub) and the Canosa, all popular meeting places at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
