Farmacia Antonio Saiz García
Information
This historical pharmacy was opened in 1928 (three years before the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas). You must take a look at its red colored façade with black signs and golden letters in the window display, the impressive interior that still maintains the old shelves and traditional white ceramic jars from the beginning of the 20th century. They also conserve old pill maker, several mortars and a scale from the last century.
In the 1990s the pharmacy became very famous as it inspired the Spanish director Antonio Mercero to make his successful TV series Farmacia de Guardia (On-Duty Pharmacy), on air in Spain from 1991 to 1995.
