Escridiscos

    Information

Escridiscos opened when new wave and punk were making their appearance in England in 1977 and Madrid's counter-cultural movida was just starting. As well as identifying with the new musical movement, they imported all the latest recordings from the UK, so that many musicians of the time became regular customers and took complete editions of their own recordings there for the shop to sell.

They also worked closely with the concert venues of the time, including El Jardín, Rockola, Universal and Astoria. And they set up their own recording label, Twins, issuing work by artists such as Replacements, Barracudas and Hombres G.

More recently they have embraced new technology and now have an extensive catalogue specialising in Power-pop but with a good selection of Oldies, Sixties, Progressive, Psychodelic, Americana, Gothic, Indie Rock, Spanish pop, and other rock styles.
