Market Day. Cámara Agraria de Madrid (Madrid Farmers' Union)

    Information

If you're the kind of person who enjoys filling their shopping basket with 100% natural products with their Designation of Origin, make sure you don't miss the first Saturday of each month at the trade fair complex in Casa de Campo. There, the Community of Madrid Chamber of Commerce holds what has come to be known as Market Day. This is an apt description for the event, a market where visitors can buy all kinds of products from our region, including vegetables from plots in towns like Villa del Prado, Aranjuez and San Martín de la Vega, wines from Madrid, olive oil from Campo Real, meat from Guadarrama, artisan honey and cheese, and much more.

The best thing about Market Day is that if the weather is fine you can try all these products there and then, or buy a selection and improvise a picnic by the lake in Casa de Campo. Market Day is a good place to learn about seasonal fruit or which dishes can be prepared with seasonal produce at various times of the year. Chefs are on hand to demonstrate recipes, while producers describe the secrets behind obtaining the very best produce to an eager audience. Plus, there are workshops and all sorts of other activities. Entry to the market is free.
