Christian Dior

    Information

Just ten years in the world of fashion were enough to have his name become one of the greatest in the history of haute couture. His sudden death in 1957 created an irreplaceable void in the world of design, although throughout these decades it has been successfully yet partially filled by the work of other prestigious couturiers such as Gianfranco Ferré or the great Yves Saint Laurent.

The latest acquisition by “Maison Dior” has been the histrionic John Galliano, who, in the same line as the master, who astonished everyone at his first fashion show with what Life magazine called the New Look, has refreshed the catwalks with innovative and modern airs. His spectacular mise en scenes, product of the Gibraltar-born designer’s love of theatre, and his extravagant creations are bold an eclectic but maintain all the glamour of the brand’s founder. But Dior goes well beyond prêt à porter and haute couture. Aside from exquisite perfume and beauty product lines, the Dior boutique in Madrid also offers a wide range of accessories, jewellery, shoes and exclusive designs for the little ones with the line Baby Dior.
