Carmen17
Information
This design studio that makes stage and audiovisual costumes, tailor-made and ready-to-wear clothing, created by Sofía Nieto (designer and graduate in stage design from RESAD and teacher at IED and TAI) and Arancha Rodrigálvarez (Fashion Graduate from Saint Martin’s and teacher at IED) is located in the heart of Madrid, between Puerta del Sol and Plaza de Callao.
Since 2013, when it opened, Carmen17 has been a big hit, working for several audiovisual and stage productions. As a tailor-made clothes studio, it makes designs for men and women using Tencel fabrics, with reduced environmental impact, and organic cotton. Its interior labelling is hand stamped, garment by garment. The packaging materials are also sustainable.
The designs that come out of this original studio range from models from its CURIE collection to wedding dresses, men’s suits or revamped traditional costumes from Madrid.
The brand emerged with the philosophy of a local shop, offering products made by hand under fair working conditions, giving value to artisan creations at affordable prices.
At its studio, there is a small stock of its collection, which can be purchased from the on-line store (https://carmen17.com/tienda/), where you can also find information on the garment and production processes, as well as the work of Carmen17, in general .
