Big Mamma

    Information

Big Mamma brings you the world of black music from rural and urban blues to gospel, R&B, doo-wop, soul, jazz, funk, disco and rap, on CDs, vinyl and singles.  Their logo features an image of Sarah Vaughan, one of the finest female jazz singers, which gives you an idea of the music that can be found here and the vibrant sensations it communicates.

Visiting the shop is like revisiting the years when Big Mamma Thornton sang with Joe Scott, Louis Jordan was leading a revolution in black music, or when Grandmaster Flash and other pioneers of rap were making their mark in the Bronx in the late 1970s. And if you're looking for something hard to find, this is the place to come to, as their search system can track down practically anything.
