Venta la Hidalguía
Information
If you are looking for a restaurant in Madrid with a traditional, home-cooked feel and cuisine from La Mancha, then this is the place for you. The menu at Venta la Hidalguia features a range of traditional dishes from La Mancha, including manitas de cordero (lamb trotters), assorted Iberian salt-dried hams, a selection of regional cheeses, game pâté, salmorejo (thick tomato, garlic, olive oil and bread soup) and morteruelo (a traditional meat paste). For dessert, the bizcochos borrachos de Guadalajara (sponge cake soaked in wine syrup) or the piononos (small cream-filled sponge cakes) are recommended. The wine list includes a range of high-quality wines to accompany whatever you may order. The tavern can accommodate up to 20 people and take-away food is available. As well as the restaurant, there is a tapas bar with regional selections and a gourmet shop. If you would like to pay them a visit, make your way to calle Menorca, 15.
