Mercado de la Reina
Information
In this restaurant you will smell and taste food from the old times. Its decorating style is elegant, modern and has plenty of details which give a Mediterranean touch to the place. The kitchen and the cave are open so that customers can see it. This helps to create a welcoming and friendly ambience. To continue with this philosophy, there have three long tables which customers share.
In the coffee-bar, just next to the street, you can have breakfast, some of the homemade tapas and dishes perfect for an appetizer (Spanish omelet, Russian salad, homemade Iberian ham croquettes, a selection of national cheeses…), have a quick lunch, dinner or a snack at any time. Some stairs will lead you to the restaurant itself, with large windows looking out to calle Reina, where you can taste a cuisine supervised by the chef Leonardo Gómez.
Some of his more outstanding specialties are charcoal-grilled octopus with virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar of Modena, crusty suckling pig with salad or roasted wild hake in fresh spring onion sauce. Finally, at night, you can go down the stairs which lead to the Gin Club (comfortable sofas, designer tables, jazz, soul and chill out music). Obviously, the queen in this room is gin. They offer a selection of more than 20 different brands of this drink.
