La Madreña (Paseo de la Castellana)
Information
The Chamartin district is the home to the third restaurant belonging to this group (the first one is in Carabanchel and the second in Legazpi) where you can enjoy the typical Asturian food with dishes like different varieties of cachopo (a cordon bleu like dish), fabada (Asturian bean-stew), meat and fish dishes and delicious desserts.
The elegant dining room can seat up to 130 people. It has stone masonry and warm wood decoration with vintage furniture and modern mirrors and lighting. The columns and beams imitate young trees and the big oak-wood mural dominating the room looks like stacked firewood. It also has a backlit bar where you can have a drink and a snack.
The menu offers dishes ranging from fabes with boletus and prawns to grilled octopus and artichokes with ham, fish of the day or glazed veal shank. The home-made cheesecake is their most famous dessert. The wine list consists of more than 60, mostly Spanish, wines.
