La cruzada
Information
This historical tavern was born in 1827, in the number one of the street with its same name. It soon became a meeting point for artist and bohemian people in Madrid. The building was demolished in 1974. They were then forced to move the restaurant to another place: Amnistía street. From 2000, it has new owners from the world of photography and edition. A big, quiet and pleasant place with wooden tables and stools. Among their food suggestions we must highlight their tostas: prawn omelette or sirloin with apple compote. Their best raciones are: hen and ham croquetas, black pudding lasagne with apple, crunchy wild mushroom in alioli sauce or La Cruzada-style beef cheecks. As for wine, it deserves a separate chapter. They offer a wide selection of national wines. Some of them can be ordered by the glass. Some wines are not included on the list, so asking for advice is recommended. Professional and attentive service. The perfect place to go to with friends and make a good impression.
