Desde 1911
Information
This restaurant belonging to Pescaderías Coruñesas is located between Guzmán el Bueno and Cuatro Caminos, which pays tribute to the family legacy of a business that has been offering excellent seafood dishes in Madrid since 1911, turning Madrid into the capital of fish and seafood, even though it does not have a port.
Desde 1911 is made up of a team of 20 people, led in the dining room by Abel Valverde and in the kitchen by the chef, Diego Murciego, who works with fresh produce brought directly from the ports. Its menu consists of dishes that vary in accordance with the produce available each day. Diners can find six starters (of which three, four or five can be chosen depending on the menu), one fish dish as a main course and a cheese board or dessert to finish. To round off the experience, there is a full wine list that pays tribute to leading national and international wineries.
The establishment, which is Nordic in its design and distribution, is divided into three different spaces: the dining room, with a view of the kitchen thanks to a large window; the central courtyard which is open with gardens; and a VIP area, with capacity for between 20 and 30 people, which enables the gastronomic experience to be savoured in a private and exclusive environment with views over the central garden.
In June 2022, Desde 1911 was named one of the “Top Europe Restaurants 2022” by Steve Plotnicki’s global review platform in New York, Opinionated About Dining (OAD), based on the reviews of some of the world’s most experienced diners.
