Pinta Malasaña
Information
The Malasaña neighbourhood is once more the epicentre of urban art thanks to this festive event in which more than 50 artists have left their mark at Los Mostenses Market. Enjoy this permanent exhibition of the best street art!
Through an open competition, the organisers of this initiative (the local newspaper, Somos Malasaña, and the Madrid Street Art Project association) have selected the participating artists, who submitted their artistic proposals, attracted by the possibility of showing off their talent in open urban spaces in the centre of Madrid. In this fifth edition, the selected space is Los Mostenses Market and some bars in the Malasaña neighbourhood.
Those chosen include first rate artists with experience in street art, along with illustrators, graphic designers and studio painters, who will be able to make their debut on these new canvases on the market stalls and its terrace. They include Fizt Licuado, Elena Sanmiguel, elReina, StoolStreetArt, Alba Bla, Max501, Nuriatoll, Guillermo JBueno, Lázaro Tótem or Teje la araña.
The prizes went to the proposals by De Tripas Aerosol, Yoshihito Suzuki and En mitad del medio, who took away the first, second and third prizes, respectively.
Enjoy their works now
Pinta Malasaña Has a new format in 2020. The urban art festival has changed the streets of Malasaña for those of Los Mostenses Market to hold a new Covid-safe edition. It is now time to enjoy the works that are distributed all around the market, which were created by the 50 participating artists over four Sundays in October (See opening times below).
The visit is free of charge and has no end date. All of the works have a QR code with all of their information. There will soon be guided visits (Sunday mornings. Keep an eye on social media!) that will enable the works to be seen from the rooftop (closed to the public).
