Welcome to Madrid

The English singer and songwriter is coming to the Teatro Eslava on 14 May to present his much awaited third album, Frame. It is a new album which will be presented in a concert tour that will stop off at stages around the United Kingdom and Europe in 2023, performing new songs full of references to art rock, jazz from the golden age and neoclassic composition.

Charlie Cunningham is an English singer, songwriter and guitarist from Buckinghamshire who has his own musical style characterised by absolutely original indie-folk. Throughout his career, which kicked off in 2014, he has appeared on stages with King Creosota and Rodríguez and has been the support group at the famous Royal Albert Hall in London. He has also triumphed at festivals, such as Eurosonic.

He has released several EPs, such as Outside Things (2014) and Breather (2015), Heights (2016) or Pieces (2020). In them, warm lyrics and sounds and his special way of strumming his guitar are shown, in which he even introduces Latin and African ingredients. This combination is visible in songs like Less Leg and Long Grass.

His two studio albums, Lines (2017) and Permanent Way (2019), consolidate him as one of the references in his genre. Now, he is embarking on a tour to present his third album Frame, which will be released in March 2023 and whose presentation single is Bird's Eye View. Recorded alongside Sam Hudson Scott and with Charlie Cunningham’s band, with the collaboration of Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode, Erasure), this album is close and intimate, with carefully performed songs.
