Welcome to Madrid

IFEMA MADRID will host the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress from 20 to 24 October 2023. This is the third edition to be held in Madrid, and will present the latest developments in cancer treatment, with an extensive educational programme and great opportunities for attendees to exchange ideas.

The ESMO Congress is the most influential oncology platform for clinicians, researchers, patient advocates, journalists and healthcare industry representatives from all over the world.

It is a meeting point for international experts in Medical Oncology where all of the developments in the treatment of cancer can be discovered, along with the application of state-of-the-art technology and innovation in the curative therapy for oncological diseases.

Furthermore, the congress is accompanied by an extensive educational programme, offering unparalleled networking opportunities for oncologists and other stakeholders from all around the world.

The 2013 edition is the third time that the congress will be held in Madrid.  The first edition was in 2014, with more than 19,800 attendees.  In 2017, the second edition was held in the city with a total of 23,700 attendees.  This showed the commitment of the medical sector to the benchmark event for oncology experts, who have placed their trust in the Congress to build new professional relations.

The European Society for Medical Oncology Congress offers an in-person experience, accompanied by opportunities to network, as well as the convenience of an interactive virtual format for those who are unable to attend in person.
