Welcome to Madrid

The International Religious Art Festival (FIAS) is hosting a new edition from 21 February to 30 March with events in different places across the city of Madrid and in other regional towns. While the festival is dedicated to ancient music, this year there’ll be jazz, electronica, folk and flamenco as well. On the whole, there’ll be more than 39 performances in a wide range of styles and genres.

This year, FIAS, one of the most widely acclaimed festivals in Spain, will renew its commitment to Spanish talent and national productions. There’ll be 26 premieres and 10 pieces commissioned exclusively for the Festival, which combines styles as well as renowned with emerging artists.

As in past editions, a number of venues across the city of Madrid will host the gigs: Basilica of San Miguel, Institut Français, Teatros del Canal, the Royal Palace Chapel and Centro Cultural Paco Rabal – Palomeras Bajas. In addition, the festival brings shows to other regional towns like San Lorenzo de El Escorial (Real Coliseo de Carlos III) and Rascafría (Monastery of Santa María de El Paular).
