Welcome to Madrid

In the 2021 edition, the half marathon, which is included in the official calendar of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) as a World Athletics Label Road Race, enjoyed a new route which is a little easier to run than the previous one. Starting at Paseo de La Castellana and finishing on Paseo de Recoletos, just before Colón, the race now takes participants past some of the city’s landmarks, including the Bernabéu stadium, Plaza de Castilla, Calle Serrano street, Puerta de Alcalá, Atocha, Paseo del Prado (recently declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco) and the fountains of Neptuno and Cibeles. In 2023 it is set once again to be held on 26 March.

Kenyans Vincent Kipkemoi Ngetich (1:01:05) and Winfridah Moraa Moseti (1h07mn22s -women's event record-) won the 2022 last edition (Ronald Kiprotich Kirui holds men's event record in 59:38, at the 2021 edition).

Those who would prefer a shorter distance can run the Carrera ProFuturo, a 5K race.
