La más croqueta
Information
Next to the Plaza Mayor, in Calle Toledo, you will find this specialist croquetería and grocery store where you can enjoy delicious home-made croquettes, made according to unique recipes, using fresh, high-quality ingredients, as well other typical local tapas in Madrid, such as Soldaditos de Pavia (fried cod and peppers), Las Gildas (olives, chili peppers, and anchovy), various cured meats, and preserves.
La más croqueta is one of the culinary proposals of the Alrux Nova group, which has set out to bring this symbol of Spanish gastronomy (which originated in France) to tourists and locals alike in Madrid. This gourmet space was designed by AimaEstudio de Arquitectura. Its interior colour scheme combines pastel blues, white and gold. It is also set up as an old-fashioned grocery store, with a counter where you can place orders and another counter to pick up your groceries.
The flavours of its croquettes vary every season, from classic ones such as Iberian Ham or garlic salted cod, to vegetarian croquettes (made with pumpkin and soft cheese, or mozzarella and olives, for example), sweet ones (rice pudding croquettes) and other alternatives, such as a Mexican or an Oriental Chicken croquette. All of them are presented in egg cups and are never frozen, to ensure they are always fresh. They can be ordered cooked, to eat on-site or out on the street, fresh to cook at home, and they can also be ordered for home delivery through Glovo, Uber Eats and Just Eat.
The restaurant also has cakes, which can be enjoyed for breakfast, dessert, or afternoon tea.
