Welcome to Madrid
In the former Palacio de la Equitativa, between Calle Alcalá and Calle Sevilla, is this exclusive shopping centre, the latest symbol of luxury in the heart of Madrid. Find over 40 boutiques selling fashion, accessories, perfume, and high-end jewellery and watches by some of the world’s most prestigious luxury brands (including Hermès, Cartier and Rolex), not forgetting a fantastic selection of restaurants and gastronomic concepts designed by renowned Michelin-star chefs.
Covering an area of 15,000 m2, Galería Canalejas is spread across three floors, with the ground floor and first floor dedicated exclusively to shopping. Luxury boutiques of international firms like Hermés, Cartier, Aquazzura, OMEGA, Rolex, Saint Laurent, Valentino, Zegna, Jimmy Choo or Louis Vuitton can be found here. The commercial area is also home to the Beauty Gallery by Isolée, with more than 20 brands of premium cosmetics, make-up and signature perfumes.
Galería Canalejas FOOD HALL
The shopping centre’s lower level, also with direct street access, will house the 4,000-m2 Galería Canalejas Food Hall (which is scheduled to open at the end of November 2021). This unique gastronomic experience boasts 13 restaurants serving a wide selection of food from around the globe, led by the best international and national chefs.
Chef Julián Mármol, awarded a Michelin star in 2019 for his restaurant Yugo The Bunker, will be at the helm of two restaurants: Monchis, a gastronomic experience halfway between Japan and Mexico – home to the first Mexican omakase bar inspired by Japanese philosophy in Europe and the second in the world – where creativity and the best techniques and ingredients reign; and The Eight, redefining favourites such as burgers and sandwiches, thanks to the chef’s unique signature touch and a menu that brings grilled dishes into the spotlight.
Chef Rubén Arnanz, also with a Michelin star under his belt, will open 19.86; this dynamic, cosmopolitan boutique restaurant features an exclusive space where a limited number of diners can watch Arnanz at work.
At Le Petit Dim Sum, a new concept by the China Crown group, diners can choose from a wide variety of handmade dim sum dishes washed down with the best cocktails. Its founders, María Li Bao and Felipe Bao bring to Madrid an innovative, fresh take on the age-old essence and tradition of Chinese cuisine.
Spanish gastronomy will be represented by D´Bellota, serving a wide selection of cured Iberian hams, cold meats, cheese, and a fine variety of bottles from Spanish bodegas; Madrid’s iconic St James, specialising in rice dishes and paellas; Garelos, from the town of Betanzos, with its modern twist on traditional Galician cuisine.
The Venezuelan chef Fermín Azkue will take on the challenge of fusion cuisine, blending Japanese gastronomy with tastes and techniques from the most exotic places on the planet at Salvaje.
Davvero by the Davani group will bring Italian gastronomy to Canalejas, serving traditional dishes and selling the best Italian products, alongside Amorino, where you’ll find authentic gelato made using 100% natural ingredients.
Thanks to its savoir faire in the culture, farming and distribution of this renowned French delicacy, Daniel SORLUT will serve oysters selected by the best chefs in the world, together with an exclusive selection of the country’s wines and champagnes. Don’t miss the restaurant’s show-cooking experiences and collaborations with renowned chefs.
Finally, the 650-m2 multi-purpose MAD Gourmets will boast 20 unique gastronomic spaces serving a wide variety of specialities, from typical Spanish tapas to the latest international trends in gastronomy. What’s more, to top off this dining experience visitors will find a range of leisure and entertainment options.
Galería Canalejas forms part of the Centro Canalejas Madrid (CCM) project, supported by OHL Desarrollos y Mohari Hospitality, which has merged seven historic buildings located in the heart of the capital, forming one property.
