Welcome to Madrid
Right by El Retiro Park we find this restaurant run by José Luis García Berlanga, son of the renowned Valencian filmmaker. Despite having dedicated his professional career to the audiovisual world, cuisine is one of his passions, which he is now showcasing in this restaurant, where rice is the star dish, and where the aim is to recapture the pleasure of relaxed meals and conversation.
The spacious 280 m2 restaurant has two rooms connected by a bar and can accommodate up to 80 guests. The first room is the main dining area and is presided over by a large family-owned display cabinet, showcasing Luis Garcia Berlanga’s collection of books. The second, which leads out onto Calle Lope de Rueda, is a more relaxed area for tapas and drinks, with more intimate lighting and earthy tones adorning the walls.
The menu includes traditional recipes from the area of El Levante, made using premium quality ingredients, with rice as the star dish, as well as five-star sharing platters and preserves. They also serve up stews of the day and authentic local cuisine from Madrid.
