Love for Japanese food and culture is the raison d’être of this restaurant located at the Plaza de Cascorro, the focal point of Rastro, the famous Sunday morning street-market in the center of Madrid. Apart from the restaurant, it has a book-store and they sell Japanese foodstuff.
The menu includes gluten-free and vegetarian sushi (made at the spot), vegan ramen, udon, yakisoba with vegetables, gyozas, yakitori, edamame, takoyaki and many more. From Tuesday to Friday they offer a midday fixed menus, like udon menu, yakisoba menu, ramen menu and chirashi menu. On weekends they also include special sushi menus.
Their bookstore holds books by different Japanese classical authors like Junichiro Tanizaki, Soseki, Kenzaburo Oe, Mishima, Kawabata, Akutagawa, Dazai, and the modern ones like Banana Yoshimoto, Yasutaka Tsutsui, Yoko Ogawa, Haruki and Ryu Murakami. You can also find Japanese manga.
