Welcome to Madrid
Just off Plaza de Oriente there lies a workshop specialising in the manufacture, repair, restoration and rehair of all kinds of bows for string instruments: vintage, classical, baroque, practice, etc. In addition, they assemble musical instruments and sell specimens for both amateur musicians and pros.
The owner, Francisco González, is the first certified master bow maker in Spain. He got his degree from the school established by master Giovanni Lucchi in Cremona, whose traditions he follows. In addition, he has a higher degree in cello.
Mr González is a member of the International Association of Violin and Bow Makers (EILA), the Spanish Association of Violin and Bow Makers (AELAP), Instrumenta-Spanish Association for the Study of Musical Instruments and Instrument Collections, and the Madrid Craftsmen’s Guild.
