Pink Monkey
Information
The district of Chamberí is home to this establishment with a casual atmosphere, which serves fusion food that blends the cuisines of Southeast Asia, Peru, Mexico and the Mediterranean. The chef, Jaime Renedo, took his inspiration from his travels, creating a menu that draws on the dishes and techniques he discovered in countries he has visited.
The décor is a playful mix of edgy and chic, with contrasting colours, white wood, metal and neon. The entrance features a charming climate-controlled terrace that can be used all year round. At weekends, DJ María Marti takes on the task of setting the place to music after midnight.
Dishes are made to order, using traditional techniques and in view of the public, thanks to the pane of glass that separates the dining room from the kitchen. Of particular note are the rice noodles (with prawns and chipotle curry), the Thai green curry, the Peruvian tiraditos and the amberjack ceviche. The offerings are rounded out by a variety of cocktails made from distilled spirits and exotic fruits, as well as a careful selection of wines.
