Welcome to Madrid

In the heart of the district of Malasaña, we find the workshop of this artisan and restorer from Extremadura, who specialises in making mirrors and animal heads using natural materials, such as bamboo, straw, wicker, fibre, and rattan.

Javier Sánchez Medina has revived the traditional crafts of basket weaving and making items from straw, updating them and offering products that combine tradition and modernity: sun-mirrors and ecological trophies, which are proving extremely popular in Spain and abroad. The actress Sarah Jessica Parker and the New York interior designer Nate Berkus are among his admirers.

To purchase his creations, you can visit his workshop/store in Calle El Escorial, a former coach house that has been completely refurbished but which harks back to workshops of old. Alternatively, you can contact him directly through his official website.
