The modern contemporary version of Indian cuisine is making a name for itself in Madrid at this restaurant, which offers the authentic street food of Mumbai's clandestine kiosks, in relaxed, joyful, colourful surroundings.

Located by the Plaza de Callao, this restaurant, designed by the Argentine artist Fabio Camarotta and the Canadian interior designer Alicia Bowers, is divided into three different areas, adapted to different times of day, all related with Indian culture and tradition.

The kitchen is run by a team of Indian chefs. Homemade naan, made fresh in a tandoor oven, a wide variety of curries and finger food options are just a few of the proposals on offer, designed for any time of the day, served along with exotic cocktails. All of its food is halal and it also serves vegetarian and vegan dishes.

From Monday to Friday, except public holidays, it serves a menu of the day for €11. On Sundays, it serves an Indian inspired brunch.  

The basement of Surya is home to Easy Bolo by 33, by Santi Ortiz, inspired by the clandestine speakeasies in New York in the 1920s and in memory of the prohibition of alcohol in Mumbai in 1949. It has a secret door behind the bar and capacity for 33 people. There, you can enjoy some of its wide selection of cocktails and listen to music mixed by different DJs.
