Welcome to Madrid

This foundation, inspired by the spirit of the Madrid newspaper, which ended in 1971, aims to promote activities in the field of journalism, organised from its headquarters in the Chueca neighbourhood, located in a historic building which was once home to other newspapers, such as La Voz, El Sol, Arriba and Marca.​

The main objective of this foundation is cultural promotion and awareness in the field of journalism, as well as communication, whereby it organises journalism prizes, forums and debates, in addition to grants and scholarships or teaching agreements, as well as exhibition activities.

One of the principles of this entity is to support the model of coexistence based on respect, democratic pluralism and the unwavering commitment to public liberties, paying special attention to defending the independence of the profession and the public service vocation that goes hand in hand with the press.
