El Montacargas

New
    Information

This alternative theatre, located in a former sweet factory on the banks of the River Manzanares, is a meeting place for artists of all disciplines who display the most avant-garde and experimental creations here.

The Montacargas Hall is a consolidated space on Madrid’s alternative theatre scene, where small and medium format shows of different genres are programmed, ranging from theatre, music and dance to cabaret or children’s shows. Humour is its hallmark and it is the only theatre that has held a 'clown' festival for more than 15 years.

It is located in a three-storey building (formerly a sweets factory). The first floor is home to a large bar that offers late-night music, café-theatre, cabaret, painting and photography exhibitions, etc. The second floor is a theatre that can seat up to 50 people. And the third floor is dedicated to a theatre school, courses, meetings and workshops.
