San Ildefonso Market
Information
An innovative concept in food-based leisure, entertainment and socialising, in the style of the street food markets found in London, New York, Singapore and Bangkok. A great place to meet up after work or for a pre-dinner drink, it is a firm favourite among residents and frequenters of Malasaña and Chueca, due to its location on Calle de Fuencarral, right between the two neighbourhoods.
Divided onto three floors, the market is located just a few metres from the site it occupied until its demolition in 1970, which was the first covered food market in Madrid. It has 16 different, highly specialised and high quality gastronomy stalls. It also has two semi-covered terraces and a bar on each floor.
The market also hosts book presentations, fashion shows, parties, commercial launches, business meetings, courses, exhibitions, screenings, filming, photographic sessions, show cooking, pop up cuisine, etc. The market regularly collaborates directly with different charitable entities, associations and NGOs.
